A Punjab Art Theatre Production presented by World Punjabi Organisation (WPO) in association with Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) , “Satgur Nanak Pargateya – a Mega ‘Sight & Sound Show’ was held at Indira Gandhi Indoor Sports Complex, New Delhi in the august presence of Dr. Manmohan Singh, former Prime Minister of India; Shri Rajnath Singh, Hon’ble Defence Minister; Sdn. Harsimrat Kaur Badal , Hon’ble Minister for Food Processing Industries, Sdr. Sukhbir Singh Badal Hon’ble Member Parliament, Manjinder Singh Sirsa and several other dignitaries including diplomats, industrialists, scholars, socialites and people from all walks of life. The venue with a capacity of over 25000 people was overflowing with the number exceeding far more as the crowd gathered to join in the event.
To commemorate 550th birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev ji, this show depicted the life, teachings and philosophy of Guru Nanak Dev spreading the gospel of love, peace, brotherhood and One God! With state of the art technology, LED walls, exceptional digital sound and intricate intelligent lighting along with mesmerizing stage performance by professional theatre artists made it a truly celestial experience.
The mega show was created to impart teachings of Guru Nanak Dev ji through simple and meaningful actions and deeds that are extremely relevant to the ethos of Universal Brotherhood as the need of the hour in current times of turbulence. The show was created to disseminate Guru Nanak Dev ji’s vision of leading a life of social harmony of friendship, tolerance, peace and unity; share one’s wealth with the have nots & dedicate life to meditation without renouncing the world thus creating an atmosphere for world reconciliation and amity.
While conveying his best wishes Rajnath singh said, “Sikh Community has made maximum sacrifice for the protection of the Nation before and after Independence.” He added that all efforts are being made that sikh families can visit Nankana Sahib and Kartarpur Sahib.
Dr Manmohan singh congratulated the gathering on the 550th birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji. He emphasised that to promote unity in complete world Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji travelled extensively spreading the message of unity and amity.
Speaking on the occasion, Padma Shri Vikramjit Sahney, International President, WPO congratulated each one for being part of the celebrations and highlighted the fact that Guru Nanak was the visionary and founder of socialism far ahead of his time as he practiced and preached equality, selfless service to society, honest earning and sharing and respect for environment. He urged everyone to imbibe these values in their day to day life.
